You’re Invited: School Transition Events for Students and Families

Change can feel big, for students and families alike. But this spring, Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) is opening its doors to help make those next steps feel smaller, more familiar, and filled with possibility.

Whether your student is moving up to a new grade level, like elementary to middle school, or transitioning to a new building due to a school or program closure, these moments matter. To help make that transition smoother, families are invited to attend upcoming school transition events designed to support students heading into new buildings for the 2026-27 school year.

These gatherings offer more than just information—they provide a chance to walk the halls, meet staff, ask questions, and begin building connections before the first day of school.

Rdale staff are focused on ensuring every student enters their new environment feeling supported, welcomed, and ready to learn. These events are a key part of that effort by creating space for relationships, reassurance, and a strong start.

• Zachary Lane Elementary: Tuesday, May 5, 5:30-7 p.m. 
• Lakeview Elementary: Wednesday, May 6, 5:30-7 p.m. 
• Neill Elementary: Thursday, May 7, 5:30-7 p.m.
• Sandburg Middle School: Thursday, May 7, 5:30-7 p.m.
• Plymouth Middle School: Thursday, May 7, 6-7:30 p.m.
