Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). This recognition for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, marks the 23rd consecutive year that the district has achieved this honor, reflecting its unwavering commitment to financial transparency and high-quality reporting.
“This award shows that Robbinsdale is committed to managing its resources wisely and being transparent about its finances,” said Superintendent Dr. Teri Staloch. “Receiving this award year after year is an amazing achievement that highlights our team’s hard work and dedication to being financially responsible.”
The district earned the COE for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), which was evaluated by a team of financial professionals who provided feedback to enhance future documents. The review team praised Rdale for its comprehensive reporting and has encouraged the district to address their comments in preparation for next year's report. The district must include the original comments and its written responses in its next application packet.
“For over half a century, ASBO International’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting has been the gold standard in promoting and recognizing excellence in financial reporting,” said ASBO International Executive Director Jim Rowan, CAE, SFO. “Communicating the financial and economic state of a district is crucial for engaging with the school community and building trust. Districts that receive the COE Award have demonstrated their ability to do that at the highest level.”
ASBO International emphasizes that participation in the COE program not only demonstrates a district’s commitment to financial transparency but also can facilitate bond rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.
